While she can be a little wary of strangers at first, giving her time, space, and the opportunity to approach on her own makes all the difference. Once she feels comfortable, Princess absolutely loves attention and will happily soak up all the pets she can get, especially those behind her ears!

Princess can be sensitive to fast movements and loud noises, so she would thrive in a calmer home environment. She is seeking adopters with experience working with nervous dogs who understand that building trust takes time and patience. In return, you'll be rewarded with a loving and loyal companion who truly enjoys spending time with her people.

This girl also has a playful side and enjoys both walks and playtime. When it comes to meals, Princess is very enthusiastic and can be quite gulpy with her food, often keeping her head in the bowl and even using a paw to keep it from moving! She has shown that she can trade for high-value treats and items, which is a great foundation for continued positive training.

Princess is very selective with other dogs and tends to be more reactive toward female dogs. Because of her sound sensitivity, she is looking for a home with children aged 14 years and older who can respect her boundaries and help her feel secure.

Princess is currently undergoing slow-kill treatment for heartworm disease and has tested positive for Lyme disease. Princess is doing very well with her treatment and her adopters will receive information about her ongoing care and should be committed to following the treatment plan for her heartworm treatment. For her Lyme disease - the good news is that most dogs who test positive for Lyme disease never develop illness and do not require treatment. Once exposed, dogs often remain Lyme-positive on blood tests for many years-or even for life-without it affecting their quality of life. Her future veterinarian should simply be made aware of her Lyme-positive status and monitor her during routine wellness exams.

If you're looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little time to shine, Princess may be the perfect addition to your family.
