Helping Bailey slim down through proper nutrition and gentle exercise will greatly improve his overall health, comfort, and quality of life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBailey has a slight limp due to a previous \u003cstrong\u003eFemoral Head Ostectomy (FHO)\u003c\/strong\u003e surgery on his left hind leg. This procedure has left that leg slightly shorter than the other, giving him a unique gait. The good news is that radiographs showed \u003cstrong\u003eno signs of arthritis\u003c\/strong\u003e, but maintaining a healthy weight will be important to reduce stress on his joints and help prevent future mobility issues.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen Bailey arrived, he was also dealing with an upper respiratory infection (URI). Combined with his excess weight, this made breathing more difficult for him. Veterinary assessments found no significant disease within his lungs or sinuses, and it is believed much of his breathing difficulty is related to the effects of carrying extra weight. He may still occasionally sneeze or cough, but his veterinary team expects these symptoms to improve as he continues his weight-loss journey.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBailey is looking for adopters who will be committed to helping him reach a healthier weight while showering him with love and affection.
